The employer sponsored migration program allows skilled workers to be nominated by an Australian employer to fill skilled positions that are unable to be filled locally.
If you have already secured employment in South Australia, visit the local employer section of this website to learn more about the options available to you and your employer.
If you do not have an employer who will nominate you, you can lodge an Expression of Interest (EOI) through SkillSelect.
SkillSelect is an online service that enables skilled workers who are interested in migrating to Australia to be considered for a skilled visa.
Potential migrants must submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) via the SkillSelect system outlining their skills, work experience and qualifications.
Australian employers or state and territory governments can find potential migrants through SkillSelect and nominate workers to apply for skilled visas.
Visit SkillSelect for more information.
Overseas visitors aged 18 to 30 can apply for a one year Australian Working Holiday visa to access temporary employment.
They can do any type of work with a South Australian employer for up to six months.
Visit Department of Home Affairs for more information.
Employers can sponsor a skilled worker from overseas for any period up to four years through a Temporary Skill Shortage visa subclass 482 visa.
To be eligible for this stream, you must be able to:
- Demonstrate a commitment to training and industrial relations.
- Offer market salary rates that are equal or above the current Temporary Skilled Migration Income Threshold.
- Offer positions from the list of occupations eligible for subclass 482 visas.
