Before you start your application on the Skilled & Business Migration portal, please ensure you have prepared the following:
1. Have you submitted an Expression of Interest (EOI) through the Home Affairs SkillSelect system?
2. Have you reviewed all nomination requirements specific to your circumstances?

- Check your occupation is on South Australia's Skilled Occupation List
- Read about each of South Australia’s Nomination Streams to see if you’re eligible.
3. Have you prepared all the required documentation to support your state nomination application for your chosen skilled migration visa?

4. Salary Calculator
Your annual earnings must be from skilled employment from an employer physically located in South Australia. Virtual offices are not accepted.
Your annual earnings should reflect the total compensation received as part of your employment, excluding superannuation and before income tax deductions.
Estimated annual earnings include:
- wages
- payments while on leave
- penalties (for weekends, public holidays, or work outside regular hours) - you should not provide an hourly rate in this case
- commissions (only accepted for sales roles)
- amounts that are salary sacrificed (such as a novated lease for a car or a meals and entertainment arrangement).
In most cases you should use your base salary as your estimated annual earnings. If you are employed in more than one job, you can include both, however both must be related to your nominated occupation.
It is important to not over-estimate your annual earnings in your ROI as it could lead to your nomination application being refused.
5. How to apply for state nomination
Once you have prepared all your required supporting documentation, you can lodge your registration of interest through the Skilled & Business Migration portal.
