The median house price in Adelaide is around $392,100 compared with $458,900 in Melbourne, $510,800 in Sydney, $476,400 in Brisbane and $492,400 in Perth.

Renting

Rental prices in Adelaide are significantly cheaper than their eastern state equivalents.

In Adelaide it costs less to rent a three-bedroom suburban house than it does in Australia’s other mainland capitals.

A three-bedroom house in Adelaide’s middle suburbs rents for a median price of $300 a week. A similar property in Sydney rents for $450 a week (March 2010).
