Immigration SA information sessions for new migrants
Immigration SA conduct monthly information sessions to help new migrants settle into South Australia.

Immigration outreach officers will visit Murray Bridge and Berri on 15-17 May to discuss upcoming reforms to the skilled migration program.
The changes being introduced on July 1 include a new online service connecting Australian employers with potential skilled migrants and streamlining of the pathway to permanent residence for people already working in Australia on temporary skilled 457 visas.
Departmental officers visiting Murray Bridge and Berri will hold a seminar and be available for brief individual appointments with employers and employees from the area to answer their questions about skilled migration.
Seminars on skilled migration visa options as follows:
Murray Bridge
Regional Development Australia Office, 137 Adelaide Road Murray Bridge SA, May 16, 6pm (about an hour’s duration).
The DIAC team will also be available for individual appointments at the following times:

Berri
Regional Development Australia Office, 6 Kay Avenue Berri SA, May 15, 6pm (about an hour’s duration) The DIAC team will also be available for individual appointments at the following times:

Immigration outreach officers will visit Port Lincoln on 23-24 May to discuss upcoming reforms to the skilled migration program.
The department will conduct seminars on skilled migration visa options at the following location, date and time:.
Regional Development Australia office, 89 Liverpool Street, Port Lincoln May 23 at 6pm (about an hour’s duration).
The DIAC team will also be available for individual appointments as follows:
Regional Development Australia office, 89 Liverpool Street, Port Lincoln May 24, 10.30am-1.30pm.
Changes to RCB Application Guidelines, April 17 2012
The new Regional Certifying Body Application Guidelines for SA Employers associated with the RSMS program come into effect on 17 April 2012.
Nominations lodged on or after this date will need to meet the requirements outlined in the new guide. Read more...
Changes to business migration visa processing - SkillSelect
State sponsorship applications for provisional visas regarding Business Migration (subclasses 163, 164 & 165) will not be accepted from COB Friday 25th May 2012 until 1 July 2012, due to the preparation of Immigration SA's link with SkillSelect - the new DIAC application system. Read more...
Australia Needs Skills event in Houston, Texas, 19-20 May 2012
An Australia Needs Skills event will be held in Houston, Texas on 19-20 May to target skilled workers within the resources, energy and infrastructure sectors - namely engineering professions and select trades occupations.
South Australian employers, recruitment agencies and industry groups are invited to register their interest in attending as exhibitors. Please visit the Department of Immigration and Citizenship website or email skill.events@immi.gov.au to register your interest.
